DESCRIPTION:FAME JR SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP\n5th – 10th August \nConceived and developed by David De Silva\, featuring a book by David De Silva and José Fernandez\, music by Steve Margoshes\, lyrics by Jacques Levy\, and the title song “Fame” written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore. \nJoin us at The Deco Theatre this Summer Holiday! \nFame! Jr. is set during the last years of the “Fame School\,” New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984). The musical follows the bittersweet but inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of gruelling artistic and academic work in order to achieve their dream of “hitting the heights” and putting their “name in lights.” With insight and humour\, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today\, including prejudice\, identity\, self-worth\, literacy\, and perseverance. \nA fantastic opportunity for children from age 6-17 to take part in a youth drama and dance project\, in an actual theatre and performing on stage in front of a live audience at the end of the project. \nUNDER £26 A DAY – INCLUDES 2 SEATS FOR THE SHOW AND A SHOW DVD! \nWORKSHOP COST £155 & £100 for siblings \nWORKSHOP DETAILS\nThe workshop costs £155 and runs from 5th – 10th August.\nNormal times are 10am – 4pm but children can be dropped off from 9am and pick up is until 5pm at no extra charge. \nOpen to ages 6 to 18. \nCost includes all tuition\, 2 seats for one of the final shows and a show DVD. \nSiblings are discounted to £100. \nExtra DVD’s will be available at £10 each. \nTHE SHOW\nThere will be 2 shows on 10th August at 2.30pm and 6.30pm! \nAll seats are £10. \nPlaces can be secured with a £50 non-refundable deposit and balance would be due by the 1st August. DESCRIPTION:Cats is a sung-through British musical composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber\, based on Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot\, and produced by Cameron Mackintosh. \nThe musical tells the story of a tribe of cats called the Jellicles and the night they make what is known as “the Jellicle choice” and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life. \nCats introduced the song standard “Memory”. DESCRIPTION:This year at The Deco in Northampton we are very excited to be producing Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS. \nThe course week runs 13th August – 18th August with two performances on the final day. There will also be some pre-course Saturday rehearsals in July; exact dates of these are still TBC. \nThe course is open to anyone aged 7-21 and we look forward to seeing many of those that have joined us for Annie\, Legally Blonde and Musical Mayhem in the past as well as lots of new faces.
