OPEN AUDITIONS – DOROTHY

The Wizard of Oz Christmas Pantomime 2026

We are delighted to announce open auditions for the role of Dorothy in this year’s Christmas pantomime production of The Wizard of Oz.

If you are a talented performer aged 18 or over, can convincingly portray a character aged 16–22, and have at least two years of stage performance experience, we would love to hear from you.

Minimum Requirements

• Aged 18 years or over (as at 31st July 2026)
• Acting age between 16–22 years
• Maximum height of 5’4″
• Comfortable working with dogs and preferably free from dog allergies
• Minimum of two years’ stage performance experience
• Have availability on 6th August, 21st November and 25th November – 28th December

The Audition Process

Stage 1 – Self-Tape Submission

As the first stage of the audition process, please submit a self-tape that includes:

• A brief introduction about yourself
• Why you believe you are the ideal choice for the role of Dorothy
• A showreel demonstrating your acting and singing abilities
• A performance of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”

Stage 2 – In-Person Audition

Applicants who successfully progress through Stage 1 will be contacted by 5th July 2026 and invited to attend an in-person audition on 12th July 2026.

During the audition, you will be required to:

• Perform two songs of your choice that showcase your vocal range
• Sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”
• Deliver a two-minute monologue
• Perform a self-choreographed dance piece demonstrating your dance ability
