FAME JR SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP

Conceived and developed by David De Silva, featuring a book by David De Silva and José Fernandez, music by Steve Margoshes, lyrics by Jacques Levy, and the title song “Fame” written by Dean Pitchford and Michael Gore.

Fame! Jr. is set during the last years of the “Fame School,” New York City’s celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984). The musical follows the bittersweet but inspiring story of a diverse group of students as they commit to four years of gruelling artistic and academic work in order to achieve their dream of “hitting the heights” and putting their “name in lights.” With insight and humour, the show explores the issues that confront many young people today, including prejudice, identity, self-worth, literacy, and perseverance.
A fantastic opportunity for children from age 6-17 to take part in a youth drama and dance project, in an actual theatre and performing on stage in front of a live audience at the end of the project.

WORKSHOP DETAILS
The workshop costs £155 and runs from 5th – 10th August.
Normal times are 10am – 4pm but children can be dropped off from 9am and pick up is until 5pm at no extra charge.
Open to ages 6 to 18.
Cost includes all tuition, 2 seats for one of the final shows and a show DVD.
Siblings are discounted to £100.
Extra DVD’s will be available at £10 each.
THE SHOW
There will be 2 shows on 10th August at 2.30pm and 6.30pm!
All seats are £10.
Places can be secured with a £50 non-refundable deposit and balance would be due by the 1st August. All participants are welcome to audition for main parts of the show, these will be held on Sunday 19th May 10am, Wednesday 29th May 10am, Tuesday 4th June 6.30pm, Thursday 6th June 4.30pm and Saturday 8th June 3pm with call backs on Saturday 8th June 5pm, auditions will last approximately 1hour 30 Minutes.
