It has not only been a Box Office sensation at the cinemas, but the soundtrack of The Greatest Showman has become a record breaker. Its 19 weeks at Number One in the charts makes it the most successful of all time, surpassing the 18 weeks ‘Saturday Night Fever’ spent at the top 40 years ago in 1978.
Which is why the new musical extravaganza ‘Celebrating The Greatest Showman’ is already proving a big hit with those who have loved the film. Indeed, so popular is it that when it comes to Northampton in September, The Deco Theatre have added a second date due to the demand.
The two performances of ‘The Greatest Showman’ are on Saturday, September 22, and the added date on Sunday, September 23 – with a cast of singers and specialist acts performing all the songs from the movie, along with other memorable tunes from the other popular musicals.
“We’ve had enormous interest in this show since we first announced it, and to make sure as many people as possible get a chance to see it at The Deco, we asked the producers if we could add a second date, and they were delighted to oblige,” said Jill Roach, house manager at The Deco.
“If you loved the film, you’ll love this show too – it’s an amazing production with an exceptionally talented cast, who do full justice to all the fantastic songs, and with a bonus of performing popular songs from other musicals too.”
